Goslar with its historic old town district and the Imperial Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can also easily reach Braunschweig/Brunswick in 45 minutes. The historic towns of Quedlinburg and Wernigerode are truly worthwhile day trip destinations.
In short, Bad Grund is well connected to transport routes and makes an ideal base for exploring the Harz Mountains.
The Harz Mountains are known for being a truly beautiful holiday destination at any time of year. The nearby Weltwald Arboretum in Bad Grund features a variety of hiking trails around the Hübischstein rock formation, and the Iberg Stalactite Cave is also close by. Venture out further into the surrounding area to discover the towns of Clausthal-Zellerfeld and Seesen. Head to the Upper Harz to explore the National Park, and in the immediate vicinity you'll also find the village of Torfhaus with its winter sports and observation tower, the Brocken mountain, the town and health resort of Braunlage and the town of Bad Harzburg with its wide range of leisure activities.

Getting here by car is an easy, flexible option that's also particularly useful when it comes to heading out on day trips. Our apartment can also be reached by taking the train to Gittelde and then carrying on from there by bus. Regional trains also serve many day trip destinations in the area. A local bus route has scheduled stops near our apartment.
