Camporata is situated in the picturesque Tuscany, which is world-renowned for its wine production. The nearest village is Gaiole in Chianti (approx. 500m away, with various shopping facilities), in the heart of the so-called Chianti Classico wine-growing district.
Attractions in the area include diverse historic buildings such as the Castello di Brolio, Castello di Spaltenna and Castello die Meleto; but picturesque medieval villages like Barbischio and Vertine are also worth seeing.
The cities Florence and Siena can be reached by car in less than an hour. No matter where you go, you'll have the opportunity to discover Tuscan wineries, most of which offer wine tastings in addition to selling their wines directly to the visitor.
Getting there
If your car has a navigation system, enter the following destination: "Via Guglielmo Marconi" in Gaiole in Chianti, Italy.
Travelling from the north: take the motorway A1 towards Florence and Rome. Approx. 35 km after Florence, take the exit Valdarno and continue towards Montevarchi.
There, follow the signposts in the direction of Siena / Gaiole. The drive from Montevarchi to Gaiole takes approx. 30 minutes.
In Gaiole, follow the signposts in the direction of Barbischio and to Via Guglielmo Marconi. The access road (unpaved) to Camporata is about 500m from Gaiole's centre, on the right (directly across from the driveway leading to Agriturismo Vinci and Ristorante Le Contrade).
