Cascina Borchina offers four romantic and elegant accommodations, for only a few guests: a whole house (finca) on two floors, a one bedroom apartment (brine), two one-room apartments (Violetta and Falco).
The studio apartment "VIOLETTA" is located in the Cascina Borchina, upstairs. The studio is the ideal accommodation solution for couples, friends or single travelers who want to have a wonderful view over the Lago and the mountains, as well as a warm, sunny and elegant atmosphere. It is an intimate nest furnished with stylish comfort and natural materials.
The materials have been carefully selected with great attention to detail. Among others you will find marble, travertine, granite, slate, natural stone, recycled wood, old brick. The result is a blend of contemporary splendor, anchored in elements of fascinating tradition. The large windows give you the opportunity to have a magnificent view over the lake and to be hugged by the sunshine. You have sun from morning to night.
The room is equipped with a wardrobe, a kitchen, a bathroom with stone shower, a living and dining area with a double bed and a wooden table with chairs that invite you to read or enjoy the view. They have a rooftop terrace with a marble table and chairs with cushions. Cascina Borchina has a garden with lawn and a park. You have two beach chairs with cushions. Although we are in the middle of a forest, Cascina Borchina is surrounded by ancient rocks and stone walls, which was used throughout history for the cultivation of fruit plants and wine. Today we have lemon trees, rosemary, sage, lavender, thyme, mint, cactus, wild cherry, chestnut, oak and hazelnut.

Cascina Borchina is located on a hill and offers a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. It's really hard to describe in words. That's why we've taken a lot of photos (all from our estate, not viewpoints) so you can have an idea of how beautiful our views are, as well as several pictures of the countryside, but it's only part of what we do Offer. We assure you that it is even more beautiful in "nature"!
Cascina Borchina can be reached by car in about 10 minutes from Maccagno and its beaches (about 4 km from the hill). You have to climb up the hill for about five minutes, towards Campagnano. Before Campagnano turn into a forest road.
Maccagno is a famous holiday destination from spring to late autumn, due to its proximity to the border with Switzerland (about 6 km). Maccagno is a small town on Lake Maggiore, which offers a lot: free climber in every season right on the rocks on the Lago, hiking and cycling (road bike and mountain bike) and the famous market on Wednesday in Luino (about 5 km away). You can visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, take long walks on the lake, go swimming, boating, pedal boating, beach volleyball or tennis, (right on the lake) or dine in good restaurants and pizzerias. The nearest restaurant is located 1.5 km from the finca. In spring, summer and autumn, Maccagno offers departures by boat to Stresa, Cannobbio, Locarno and the Borromean Islands (... and many other beautiful places).
Cascina Borchina is ideal for long walks, hikes and free climbers, but also for shopping and sightseeing in the cities. By car Lugano (Switzerland) is only 35 minutes away; to Locarno (Switzerland) it is 30 minutes, Milan in about 1:20 in the car or train; Lake Como, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Near Lugano (Mendrisio) there is also an outlet with over 80 stores open all year round.
Maccagno has a post office, a pharmacy, a bakery, a pastry shop, a bank, a newsagent and a supermarket, a laundry and a car-sharing service, several restaurants and bars.
