Holiday destination
Situated on a sunny hill above the spa town of Merano, at 600 m, Schenna offers a fantastic view over the South Tyrolean mountains. The successful fusion of nature, traditions, and culture make Schenna the perfect setting for an unforgettable holiday.
What you should not miss:
The botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, the Archaeological Museum with Ötzi, Tyrol Castle with the history of the country, Schenna Castle and its weapons collection, and much more.
Getting there
Over the Brennero Pass, along the highway to Bolzano-South, continue on the expressway, exit Merano-South. Signs will lead you directly to Schenna. An alternative is to take the scenic route over the Resia Pass (country road). Important: do not exit at Lagundo / Algund, but in Merano-South.
Please note that most navigation devices do not have Scena addresses stored and therefore lead you into the town of Verdines / Verdins. However, the Hohenwart is located just above the fire station, on the same road, but before entering Verdines.
