Only 230 km from Lübeck, and about 310 km from Hamburg and Berlin, Rügen is very well connected via well-developed motorways and federal highways, making it the "tourist pearl of the Baltic Sea."
Even from Scandinavia – the greater Copenhagen/Malmö area can be reached in just over four hours – and from Poland – the distance from Szczecin is approximately 200 km – getting there is no problem.
