Cancellation policy
To receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 28 days before check-in.
If they cancel with less than 28 days but at least 7 days before check-in, you’ll receive 50% of the booking amount for all booked nights.
If they cancel less than 7 days before check-in, you’ll receive the full amount for all booked nights.
Guests are also eligible for a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in.

Holiday destination
Our holiday home is located in the idyllic Barkauer Land, on the edge of Holstein Switzerland, just minutes from Kiel. The Baltic Sea is only 25 minutes away. Surrounded by beech forests and lakes, the area invites you to enjoy cycling and canoeing. Shopping in Kiel, Neumünster or Hamburg and ferry connections to Scandinavia offer variety. The Kiel region is full of nature, activities and fresh sea air – perfect for explorers.
Getting there
By Car:
Grossbarkau is easily accessible. Four free parking spaces are available at the house.
By Train:
From Hamburg to Flintbek or Kiel, then continue by bus or taxi to Großbarkau.
By Bus:
From Kiel Central Station (Hbf) take bus line 410 to Klein Barkau, then approx. 10 minutes on foot.
By Ferry:
Ferry connections to Kiel (e.g. from Gothenburg or Oslo).

Host informationWe’re a German-Canadian couple living in Canada, with our second home on Sina’s family organic farm in northern Germany. We love to travel, explore new cultures, and enjoy great food with local wine and beer. We appreciate the quiet countryside and feel most at home in nature.
