Holiday destination
Tangermünde is situated in the historic Altmark region of the North German Plain, on a glacial terminal moraine, above the left shore of the Elbe. The town's name derives from the mouth (German: Mündung) of the Tanger tributary. The altitude protects it from floods.
Getting there
It´s 200 km from Hannover or Hamburg and only 120 km from Berlin to Tangermünde. The little old town is very close to Stendal. You can reach Tangermünde by train via Stendal, on bicycle traveling on the Elbe cycling track, by boat traveling on the river Elbe or by car via Magdeburg, Wolfsburg or Rathenow. Tangermünde is a stopover on the St. James Way from Brandenburg to Saxony Anhalt.

Wir waren mit Freunden für 2 Nächte in diesem fantastischen mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichteten Haus. Alle waren vom ersten Moment an begeistert und jeder fand eine Schlafstätte mit schon bezogenen Betten. Die Sauberkeit im gesamten Haus ist hervorzuheben, da wir andere Fewo kennengelernt haben. In den Bädern sind überall genügend Haken für Handtücher und die beiden Küchenzeilen waren perfekt bestückt. Wir würden immer wieder kommen und empfehlen es zu 100 Prozent weiter. Wie gut, dass dieses schöne alte Haus so liebevoll restauriert wurde. Man konnte sein langes Leben förmlich spüren, denn wir sind alle Liebhaber von Fachwerkhäusern. Eine Freundin erkrankte vor dem WE und wir haben sofort ihren Reiseanteil erstattet bekommen. Das habe ich so unkompliziert noch nie erlebt. Vielen Dank nochmals.
