Plakias has a little more touristy Tam Tam to offer. A simple, peaceful and lively town with a beautiful beach, taverns right on the water, beach bars for the classic sundowner by the sea and live music. The town, previously known as an insider tip, is coming to life!
Holiday destination
The area is great to explore with an e-bike, which you can rent in the village. Hikers will love the nearby gorges. There are wonderful hiking trails along the bays around Plakias.
In the surrounding mountain villages you can find small family-run taverns that take you back in time. Everything served on the table there is home-grown.

The distance to the two airports (Heraklion and Chania) is the same.
