From Kallmuth the National Park can be reached quickly. Just enjoy nature when walking on the various well-signposted forest and field trails of the Park. The touristic highlights in the neighbourhood are as follows: The Eifel National Park, the "Ordensburg Vogelsang" built during the Nazi era, the Rur river dam including shipping on the Rur lake, Heimbach hydropower station, the Hellenthal game reserve, the high rope course of Nettersheim, the rhenisch open air museum in Kommern, summer toboggan run, the rhenisch big game park, the famous Monschau and Bad Munstereifel, the Zikkurat thermal bath, the radio telescope Effelsberg, the mining museum in Mechernich, the Satzwey castle and the "Phantasialand" in Bruehl.

Süßes Cottage, gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Kaminöfen in Küche und Wohnzimmer sind toll!!! Aufgrund der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit im Cottage hat sich u. a. an der Wand unterhalb des Sicherungskastens einiges an Schimmel gebildet. Der Fernseher empfing kein Signal, Vermieter rief nach unserem Aufenthalt an und wollte wissen, was wir mit dem Gerät gemacht hätten. Das fand ich unverschämt, zumal uns die Nachbarn, die als Kontakt bei Problemen angegeben waren, bestätigten, der Fernseher würde wegen des Baumes vor dem Haus kein Signal empfangen und das portable W-lan-Gerät nütze ebenfalls nichts, da es keinen Empfang gäbe. Und so war es auch. Wer übers Handy telefonieren möchte, muss sich in höhere Lagen begeben.

Das Häuschen war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und wir haben mit unseren zwei Hunden die Silvestertage gut verbringen können. Die Familie vor Ort ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich! Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und würden sicher gerne wieder kommen.
