In 5 min. walking distance you find: a restaurant, 2 grocery stores and one delishop. The white truffel "Mekka" is situated 20 km from Castino. The small historic towne has each Saturday a big Market and beautiful Boutiques.The truffle stronghold Alba is 20 km from Castino. The small, well-preserved town has a large market and great boutiques every Saturday. The villages of Barolo Monforte, La Morra  and Barbaresco are 30 minutes away We would be happy to organise a truffle hunt with a dog for you. Marco the truffle hunter of La Morra will spend 2 hours with you and search for truffles which you can buy or eat in a restaurant. Costs: Minimum 2 persons, per hour and person € 35.00/ he will be happy to organise a translator for DE and EN, cost €60.00. The truffle found can be bought or you can eat your truffle directly in a restaurant in La Morra. Acqui Tehrme is 35 km away and offers beside very nice boutiques also an ancient Roman bath with modern wellness, massage and beauty care. Best truffelseason is October to beginning of Dicember.
Getting there
Take highway A21 Torino-Piacenza. Leave in Asti Est and take the expressway Direction Alba. After 13 km leave the expressway and pass straight through Isola D’Asti drive to Costigliole d’Asti. Drive straight trough Costigliole d’Asti and at the end of the village turn right towards Bolgietto. Drive straight throug this village to S. Stefano Belbo. In S. Stefano at the only traffic light turn towards Cossano Belbo. Drive straight throug and drive always in the vally to Rocchetta Belbo and then to Campetto ca. 3 km after Rocchetta. There turn left up the hill to Castino. Turn left in the village. at the end before the cimetary turn right and 20 Meters later turn left in Via Vesime. We are the first house on the right.

Die Unterkunft ist einfach toll! Die Ruhe, der Ausblick, der wunderschöne Garten mit Pool und auch die Unterkunft selbst bietet einen tollen Blick auf die Umgebung! Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen, entspannten und sehr erholsamen Urlaub dort! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sofort wohl gefühlt, das grosse Panoramafenster ist einfach ein Traum und der Kamin hat immer für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und Temperatur gesorgt. Morgens hat uns Vogelgezwitscher geweckt und wir haben in Morgensonne draussen frühstücken können, da der Balkon herrlich geschützt liegt. Oft konnten wir dabei Rehe im Garten beobachten. Das Dorf Castino alleine ist schon eine Reise wert, nette Menschen, gutes Essen, super Espresso und herrlich unberührt vom Tourismus (zumindestens zu der Zeit zu der wir da waren). Wir sind viel in der Umgebung gewandert, waren in Alba und AquiTherme (Spa!) und haben einfach nur die Seele baumeln lassen... Alles in allem ein Traumurlaub in einer wunderschönen Lokation, sehr zu empfehlen! Kontakt zu Suzanna super nett und immer schnelle Antwort!
