    The northeast of Schleswig-Holstein is known for its diverse and beautiful nature with picturesque bays and beaches, green hilly landscapes with bright rape fields and numerous nature reserves with a rich flora and fauna. In the midst of this unique natural landscape, the Ostsee Resort Olpenitz is being built between the Baltic Sea and the mouth of the Schleim River, near the town of Kappeln. On the 150 hectare area of the former naval base, a vacation paradise in a class of its own is being created with a varied range of offers. The surrounding nature invites you to slow down from everyday life. Enjoy extensive walks and bicycle tours or relax on one of the beautiful beaches of the region. In addition to the vacation enjoyment in nature, you also have the opportunity to make trips to an urban environment due to the central location of the resort and the proximity to the small town of Kappeln. The town of Kappeln, which is known from the ZDF series 'Der Landarzt', offers numerous sights, such as the St. Nikolai Church, the Amanda windmill or the famous Kappeln herring fence. This exists since the 15th century and is nowadays the only one in the whole of Germany and Europe. It is definitely worth a visit both for fishing enthusiasts and for the whole family, especially on Ascension weekend, when the Kappeln Herring Days are celebrated in honor of the fence! Experience here the hustle and bustle of a town on the Baltic Sea and visit one of the many restaurants with a wide variety of food - of course often typically Nordic with the best and freshest fish dishes!

    Die Ferienwohnung ist schön luftig und hell. Lage in der obersten Etage und der Blick über die Marina sind toll. Leider braucht die Heizung sehr lange (bis 12 Stunden) um auf gewünschte Temperatur zu kommen. Gerade im Winter und für einen Wochenendurlaub ungünstig. Die Korrespondenz mit der Vermietung war sehr freundlich. Wir empfehlen, sich vorher über die Gesamtanlage gut zu informieren. Es gibt dort lediglich ein Restaurant und auch sonst wenig Geschäfte. Für ein We aber okay. Das Bett qietschte bei der kleinsten Bewegung und wird hoffentlich umgehend nachgebessert.

    Nur zu empfehlen. Schöne Lage, dicht zum Einkaufsgeschäft. Trotzdem ruhig. Strand Weidefeld gut zu erreichen, DLRG überwacht. Auch Strand Schönhagen gern besucht. Strandkorb kann man mieten.
