Other recreational opportunities
A pleasant country outing with the excursion train, the Moorexpress, takes you from Worpswede to the apple region of Stade - or to Bremen Central Station. Our bathing river, the Hamme, with its raised sandy beach is just a short 100 metres away. The artists' village of Worpswede has several museums and numerous galleries to offer.
Holiday destination
Worpswede was the home of such famous artists as Paula Modersohn-Becker, Rainer Maria Rilke and Heinrich Vogeler. You can easily explore the breathtaking landscape by taking a peat boat tour, in a canoe or by bike. Bremen's old town is just 30 minutes away. The Nordsee beach can be reached in 1 hour. But anyone who prefers exploring our lovely global village by foot will have a wonderful time simply sitting down in one of its excellent cafes or restaurants, and drinking in the special charm of this place.
Getting there
It's easy to get here by car. The train service to the district capital Osterholz-Scharmbeck is very easy, and getting from there to here by cab is the most pleasant way. The Bremen Airport is a half-hour's drive away.

Host informationTravelling and exploring the world are some of our favourite hobbies. Before we decided to settle down to a life in the country, we would travel throughout Europe, to the US and more remote places several times a year. Travelling allowed us to to get to know the country and its people, to eat well and to discover that something special in others. The most relaxing holidays we've ever had were spent not in hotels, but in apartments when they were especially pleasant and well furnished. These were warm and welcoming places with nice hosts who were happy to offer us secret tips without being intrusive. And that's exactly how your experience in our apartment should be for you. A warm and welcoming place in a bewitchingly charming village.
