You can go whale watching, trekking and jeep safari, rent a boat at Mosteiros port and go watch the dolphins, fishing, or take a look at the caves along the coast and the big Islet of Mosteiros. The city of Ponta Delgada just a 25 minute drive has many activities, shopping, boat tours, Shows, cultural events etc. Swim at natural pools in Mosterios
Holiday destination
Sete Cidades lakes. Batalha, a 27 hole golf course, other golf course is located in Furnas. Ferraria hot thermal springs . You can rent a boat for fishing or visit the caves along the coast.
There are several lakes and picnic areas nearby. Take a walk thru Gruta do Carvao and see the formation of volcanic activity.
Sao Miguel holds a treasure full of interesting, exciting and exotic places to be explored. From the Chalet you can explore the mountains, lagoons, water falls and breathtaking coastline.
Getting there
When you leave the airport head towards Relva, Stay on the Regional Road, you will pass the villages of Feteiras, Candelaria, Ginetes, Varzea, you will see a sign that says turn left for Mosteiros. Turn left untill you see a sign that says Pico Do Mafra, there you will make a U Turn and head back, you will pass 5 homes on the right and at the last home you will see a yellow chaple looking building, between the last home and this building is a street that reads Rua do Caminho Velho. This is a dirt road, follow that down pass the pic nic area, after that you will see a white house trimed in blue, you keep going when you see the last electric pole you will see a large stone wall, that is the property, the driveway is on the left # 21

Diese Unterkunft hat uns sehr gefallen. Wir konnten jeden Abend einen tollen Sonnenuntergang genießen. Den Grill haben wir auch 2 x benützt.
Würden bei unserer nächsten Azorenreise ganz sicher dort wieder buchen.
Vielen Dank an den Vermieter mit seinem tollen Garten.

Die Kontaktaufnahme mit den neuen Eigentümern Cyril und Alexandre, zwei sehr sympathischen Franzosen, verlief problemlos. Die Lage des Ferienhauses und der Ausblick sind einfach gigantisch. Wir hatten Glück mit dem Wetter und 5 tolle Sonnenutergängen auf der Terasse sitzend. Der Garten ist wundeschön. Das Ferienhaus ist in Alleinlage. Nur das Wohnhaus der Eigentümer liegt ca. 50 m entfernt. Die Einrichtung ist wegen des Besitzerwechsels größtenteils neu. Die in der vorhergehenden Bewertung kritisierte Wegbeleuchtung ist mittlerweile repariert und ausreichend. Da der Handyempfang sehr gut ist war das fehlende W-Lan kein Problem für uns. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank an Cyril und Alexandre
