The city of Vence imposes a tourist tax all year round.
This amounts is 2,28 Euro per night for each adult person.
Example: For 2 people, 7 days, the tourist tax is calculated at 31,92 euros.
The beaches of Cagnes sur Mer, Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Theoule sur Mer, Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu sur Mer and others are easily accessible by car. Showers are usually available at the pebble and sandy beaches. The well-kept public outdoor pool of Vence gets its water directly from one of the springs.
From south to north, the varied coastal landscape with flat beaches and azure blue water (Cotes d'Azur) merges into the hilly central hinterland (Moyen Pays) and finally into the mountainous "Alpes Maritimes Provencales"(Hautes Pays). In this varied landscape there are countless routes for hikers, bikers, cyclists and horse riders, from easy to very demanding. Information brochures with detailed route descriptions are available in the apartments.
Drive up the Col de Vence, to the St.Barnabe-High plateau, into the Wolfsschlucht (Gorge du Loup) and through the untouched hinterland of Vence. Visit the impressive Verdon Gorge and two of the most beautiful villages in France - Tourtel and Gourdon. Wine lovers will find famous wine regions in the region north of Toulon (Côtes de Provence) and in the Var region (Côtes de Varois).
The artist towns Saint Paul de Vence (world famous exhibition Fondation Maeght), Antibes (old town and harbour, Picasso museum, Cap d'Antibes), Vallauris (Picasso clay works), Haut de Cagnes (Renoir house) are always worth a visit.
Visit the cities of Nice (Old Town, Matisse Museum, Promenade des Anglais), Cannes (Old Town, Croisette, Esterel Mountains, Iles de Lerins) and Monaco (Casino and Royal Palace). Also St.Tropez and Port Grimaud are only 1 ½ hours away by car.
A visit to the perfume city Grasse is almost a must. On the way there is the romantic village Tourrettes le Loup. Also the Patisserie Florian on the further way is worth a detour.
Holiday destination
The two medieval towns of Vence and its "sister" Saint-Paul de Vence are embedded in the lovely hilly landscape northwest of Nizza. The houses and alleys of the old town of Vence, arranged like a snail's shell, the castle, the former palace and the rose chapel of Matisse are well-known tourist attractions. Vence, a city of artists, is also known as the "city of flowers" and "city of water". The well-preserved "washhouse", twenty fountains and numerous springs ensure the water supply of the well-kept private and public parks. The "Fontaine Vieille", which gave its name to the villa and the street, is one of these many springs.
Getting there
By car:
From Cagnes-sur-Mer (exit 48 on the A8 from Italy, airport or exit 47 through France), first take the M36 - Route de Cagnes - through several roundabouts and then the M236 - Avenue Emile Hugues - towards Vence Center. About 350 m after the E.Leclerc supermarket - on the left-hand side - you will reach a large roundabout. Take the first exit on the right and then immediately left at the La Pergola restaurant on Avenue Elise. After 50 m, turn right onto Avenue Henri Isnard. Follow this street, which leads down to the left after the pharmacy, until the stop sign. There, take a sharp left onto Rue Fontaine Vieille (dead end). After a few meters you will reach the large green entrance gate (No. 15) to the parking lot of Villa Fontaine Vieille. Lift the hook that secures the gate, open the sliding gate carefully (stop!) And drive into the parking lot.
by bus from the airport:
From Terminal 1 or 2, take tram L2 to Park Phoenix and change here to bus 09, which will take you directly to Vence and the terminus Routière de l’Ara. From there it is a 500 m walk to the Nuages apartment in Villa Fontaine Vieille.
You will receive the key for the Nuages holiday apartment and, if necessary, the bed linen/towels on site. If you have any further questions or requests, who you can reach us on mobile phone +49 151 40513738..

Liebe Familie Himer!

Marleen
