Hinterbichl is a starting point for numerous hikes in the national park of the Hohe Tauern, as well as in the surrounding mountains with its numerous huts and meadows. Whether on foot or by bicycle, here you'll experience all facets of the mountains, their beauty and fascination that draws holidaymakers to the mountains every year. Regardless of your sporty level, or that you wish to reach, from hiking to glacier tours, mountaineering or climbing, there are many options available that can be reached from our holiday home.
The Großvenediger group in the north and the Lasörling group in the south surround the beautiful valley in Austria, where the Virgental Alps have found their place at the end of the valley.
The river Isel and thee Dorferbach, which flows right from the glacier in the north, flow in a lovely bubbling sound down the mountain and past the holiday home.
Hinterbichl is a little village in the town of Prägraten, with 124 inhabitants, where you can escape the mass tourism and enjoy the pristine nature up close.
From Germany:
A8 to Inntal interchange, A93 toward Kufstein. Towards Kitzbühel, through Mittersill, through the Felbertauerntunnel to Matrei in East Tyrol.
Follow the highway towards Virgen/Prägraten.
From Austria:
Coming from the direction of Vienna:
On E60/A1 toward Salzburg, on E55/A10 towards Bischofshofen. To Schüttdorf on the 168 toward Zell am See.
In Mittersill take the Felbertauernstrasse toward to the Felbertauerntunnel.
In Matrei, toward Virgen/Prägraten to Hinterbichl at the end of the valley.
From Italy:
Highway through the Drei Zinnen nature park to Innichen.
Follow the road to Lienz and turn onto the 108 toward Matrei.
Follow the highway toward Virgen/Prägraten to Hinterbichl at the end of the valley.
