The Schoorl Dunes are a dune area west of Schoorl in North Holland. They are the highest (55.4 meters) and widest (5 kilometers) dunes in the Netherlands. Access to this area is 650 m from the Ecohaus. The dunes are widest at this entrance.
In the schoorl dunes are heather, coniferous and deciduous forests. The area is criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails. The most famous dune is the 51 meter high Klimduin, which leads straight into the village of Schoorl.
Here beach lovers can enjoy nature, the beach, the dunes, the polder and above all the tranquility. The beach is 5 km away and can be easily reached by bike. The nearby village of Bergen is famous for the beautiful light and artists who live there. There are many cafes, restaurants and a weekly market. It is also a beautiful old village.
The gastronomic offer is diverse and varied. From pancakes to starred restaurants, everything is included. The center of Schoorl is ideal for children as there is a climbing garden in the middle of the village.
The area is also ideal for hiking, cycling and horse riding. The nearby sea invites you to swim.
Holiday destination
The Ecolodge is located between the villages of Schoorl and Bergen, 10 minutes by bike. You walk to the dunes within 5 minutes. The sea and the beach can be reached by bike in about 30 minutes. The city of Alkmaar with the famous cheese market can also be reached in about 30 minutes by bike. It is an ideal area for walking, there are long cycle paths through the dunes and the lift is close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands, Schoorl beach, which can only be reached by bike or on foot.

Host informationWe are Johan and Wendela. We have been living in Schoorl with our son Milo for 3 years. We lived in Amsterdam for a long time and wanted to live closer to nature. The villages of Bergen and Schoorl are beautiful, peaceful but also lively and we love the sea and dunes.

Sehr freundliche Vermieter, tolles Haus und schöner Garten. Wer sein Fahrrad dabei hat kann sein Auto stehen lassen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt . Für die Erholung suchen, beste Adresse.

... in auffallend stiller Lage. Das Haus hat uns mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Freundlichkeit in seiner gesamten Erscheinung sowie seiner Wärme und Helligkeit im Inneren, sehr im Herzen berührt.
Die kuschelige Wärme des schönen Speicherofens im Wohnraum konnten wir in vollen Zügen genießen. Der Ofen heizt sehr gut und speichert die Wärme sehr nachhaltig, wie es auch das Haus selbst tut. Es ist ein sehr angenehmes wohltuendes Raumklima im gesamten Haus.
Insgesamt ist alles sehr kreativ und auch sehr sauber und ordentlich.
Johan und Wendela sind stets hilfsbereit und äußerst freundlich. Wir haben Johan und Wendela als sehr achtsame Menschen erlebt.
Wir kommen sehr gerne bald wieder und bleiben dann ...100 Jahre !!
