For lovers of local markets there is Revel with its fine Saturday market or Castelnaudary (10 mn) on Mondays. Also a must visit: Mirepoix offers a colorful market on Mondays and is the gateway to the mysterious Cathar region (Montsegur). Nearby are the authentic villages and lakes of the Montagne Noire. Interesting is also the city of Albi, its impressive cathedral and the Toulouse Lautrec Museum.
Holiday destination
Soupex is perfectly located in the heart of the Lauragais hills, a stone's throw from the Canal du Midi. A wonderfully quiet hiking and cycling area, almost equally far from the medieval city of Carcassonne with its wine region and the picturesque but vibrantToulouse (museums, cafés and shopping). Nearby are the authentic villages and lakes of Montagne Noire, which you can visit on foot, by bike or by car. Côté cuisine we would be happy to recommend some beautiful wine domains and there are numerous simple but good and inexpensive restaurants in the area where you can try the local cuisine.

Wir durften als Familie in diesem phantastischen Idyll 10 Tage mit unserem Welpen verbringen. Pepe und Nathalie sind wunderbare Gastgeber, die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war vorbildlich, die Tipps während des Aufenthaltes perfekt und allein die Liste mit den empfohlenen Restaurants ist unglaublich. Wo soll man denn beginnen? Die Beschreibung ist sehr detailliert, alles sehr gut beschrieben und man spürt in jedem Wort die Liebe zu gutem Essen und tollem Ambiente. Wir durften im gesamten Bed and breakfest des tollen Anwesens (Altes Herrschaftshaus des Dorfarztes) mit riesigem Salzwasserpool in einem richtigen Park leben. Die Zimmer sind wunderbar mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert, tolle Ideen, ein riesiger salon und Petit salon, die Küche ist nur ein Traum, wie gern haben wir hier gekocht.
