Cefalu is an old fishing village that has grown into a popular holiday destination over the years.
Founded in the 12th century, Cefalu is nestled between a steep mountain slope and the coast. The village boasts an ancient and beautiful cathedral that towers over it. Constructed in the 12th century, the cathedral is a typical example of Norman architecture in Sicily. A staircase leads you to the cathedral. The cathedral features two large towers with three arches. Here is the entrance to the cathedral. The building is also great for discovering the oriental influences of the Arabs. You will find various interlaced arches and a wooden ceiling.
