Other recreational opportunities
Lots of very good walking in the area in the country lanes and fields surrounding us, and along the coastal paths. Explore the historic city of Exeter, visit large gardens and stately homes. Approximately one hour drive to Dartmoor and Exmoor. Eat delicious locally produced food. Visit the seaside towns of Sidmouth, Beer and Lyme Regis.
Holiday destination
The Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has stunning views, many species of birds, wild life and flowers Plenty of country walks on the doorstep. A favourite of ours is a circular walk that includes a pub where children and dogs are welcome, and locally produced food is served. The Jurassic Coast and many attractions of Devon, Somerset and Dorset are only a short drive away. Our nearest town is Honiton with plenty of history, shops, cafés and restaurants.

Wir haben uns rundherum wohlgefühlt in unserem Cottage Wetterfahne. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Suzanne und Duncan mit jam , clotted cream und scones begrüßt, das Haus war mit allem, was man als Selbstversorger braucht, ausgestattet, und vor allem die Kinder und unser Hund haben sich auf der riesigen Wiese vor dem Garten ausgetobt und wohlgefühlt. Es gab in dieser Gegend viel anzusehen und zu erleben ( in dem Cottage gibt es hierfür viel an Prospektmaterial), auch die Wandergebiete im Dartmoor und an der Küste sind gut zu erreichen, und die empfohlenen Pubs waren wie beschrieben, lecker und vor allem hundefreundlich. Trotzdem war alles sehr ländlich und sehr ruhig, so dass man gut abschalten und sich wirklich erholen kann.

Das Cottage bietet alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht.Wir haben uns in diesem wunderschönen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt, mußten leider nach einer Woche schon wieder abreisen. Absolut empfehlenswert, ob mit Kindern oder alleine- einfach toll!! Danke Suzanne!!
