In the Schnalstal valley, a variety of leisure activities in nature are available - from leisurely hiking to high-alpine tours - including guided tours through the local tourism association.
Holiday destination
The Schnalstal is an alpine valley with diverse possibilities - from cozy to high alpine. Nature lovers will enjoy hiking to alpine pastures and huts, while summit enthusiasts can enjoy a mountain panorama of three-thousand-meter peaks at the end of the valley. Here, at the end of the 19th century, mountaineering and skiing began. Today, there is a glacier ski area up to an altitude of 3,200m with a unique panoramic view of the Ötztal Alps. This is also the location where Ötzi, the famous Iceman, was found.
Our holiday home "Pifrailerhof" is located one kilometer from the village of Karthaus, surrounded by greenery.
The former Carthusian monastery is a small village with shopping facilities, a restaurant, and a bank and is the venue for an art exhibition in the former cloister during the summer.
Getting there
You can find us in the beautiful South Tyrol - coming from Austria via the Brenner Pass or the Reschen Pass.
Taking the Brenner route to Bolzano and then towards Merano in the direction of Vinschgau. After the village of Naturns, you will find the turn-off to the Schnalstal valley. After 10 km at the turn-off to Karthaus, our farm Pifrailerhof is located on a side street.

Toll!!! Wir kommen wieder. :-)
