Other recreational opportunities
We recommend taking a ride on Schwarzwaldhochstraße to Achern, Sassbachwalden, the Allerheiligen waterfalls, Mummelsee and other places; this road is also very popular with motorcyclists and mountain bikers. The National Park Centre Ruhestein with the Lothar Path (learn more about hurricane Lothar) is approx. 8 km away and also worth a hike, which takes about 2 hours. Baden-Baden, Straßbourg or Freiburg are nice destinations for a day trip. The Alsace or the Europapark Rust are also popular destinations. Various museums, Freudenstadt's market square with its arcades as well as the Panorama-Bad Freudenstadt ensure that you won't be bored on bad weather days. Hikers and walkers enjoy the trails that start at the house and lead to the Ruhestein, Schliffkopf, Zuflucht, etc.. With the Konus-Card you can use all participating busses and many trains in the region for free.
Holiday destination
At the climatic health resort Obertal, 600m from the village centre, you can recharge your batteries and take a break from everyday life. Take short or extended hikes and breathe in the fresh scent of herbs and fir trees - the Northern Black Forest National Park awaits you right on your doorstep. The region is known for its haute cuisine: Lots of gourmet chefs work here and are ready to spoil your taste buds. The hiking trails and a Nordic Walking path start right above the house, and about 100m below in the forest, trails lead to the mountain pass Ruhestein, the Schliffkopf mountain, Zuflucht, etc. The towns Baiersbronn and Freudenstadt can be reached by car in 10 and 20 minutes and invite you to visit and take a stroll. You want to take a trip to the Mummelsee, the National Park Centre Ruhestein or to Baden-Baden? The Schwarzwaldhochstraße (Black Forest High Road) starts at the foot of Obertal. A small grocery store is 600m away (valley), restaurants and a cafe only 100m.
Getting there
By car: Autobahn Stuttgart-Singen A 81, exit Horb/Freudenstadt-Baiersbronn-Obertal From the north: BAB Karlsruhe-Basel, exit Rastatt and through the Lower Murgtal valley, or take the exit Baden-Baden, on the Schwarzwaldhochstraße (B500) via Plättig, Unterstmatt, Mummelsee-Baiersbronn-Obertal-Obertal From the south: On the BAB Basel-Karlsruhe, e xit Achern, via Kappelrodeck, Ruhestein to Baiersbronn-Obertal-Hirschauerwald By train: Direct connection to Baiersbronn, there you can take the bus or a taxi.

Gemütliche, saubere und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, nur im Bad hätte ich mir mehr Ablagefläche gewünscht. Sehr genossen haben wir das Frühstück auf dem Balkon. Die Lage ist traumhaft, direkt am Wald, es ist sehr ruhig und die Nachbarn sind nett. Auch der Kontakt zur Vermieterin erfolgte immer prompt und problemlos. Im Ort gibt es einen Dorfladen und Gastronomie gibt es reichlich ( und lecker). Wir hatten einen ruhigen und erholsamen Urlaub!

Wir haben einen sehr schönen erholsamen Urlaub im Haus Tannenblick verbracht. Das Haus ist modern eingerichtet, vom baulichen Stil, der Einrichtung mit passendem Mobiliar und der sonstigen Ausstattung alles aus einem Gus. Die Vermieterin war immer für unsere Wünsche offen und bei der Erfüllung hilfsbereit. Für einen Schwarzwald Urlaub immer wieder und empfehlenswert.
