Holiday destination
De Koog is the seaside resort on Texel located directly by the North Sea, where most shops and restaurants can be found. Here, you'll have the easiest access to the beach and there are plenty of opportunities to explore the island. There are numerous bicycle and moped rental services. The bus line goes directly from the ferry to De Koog. Bringing cars to Texel is recommended, as the island is quite large compared to other Wadden Islands. It's a 15-minute ferry ride from Den Helder. Texel boasts beautiful nature.
