The Eifel offers many cultural and pampering leisure possibilities and lots of interesting places to visit.
You can also visit the nearby BeNeLux countries or Aachen, the historic little towns of Monschau, Bad Münstereifel and the Nürburgring (approx. 70km) and Spa.
Erkensruhr is the ideal starting point for all excursions and activities.
The Rursee lake is only 3 km away on foot. There you can take a walk, fish, swim (natural swimming pool in Einruhr and Rurberg) or take a boat trip across the lake, also with section-by-section walks. There are lots of hiking paths for all levels and guided hiking tours.
In the North Eifel , there are many opportunities for nature-lovers and also a lot of culture and things to see. We can recommend a visit to the Vogelsang and Wollseifen castle, the Hellenthal game reserve, the Eifelsteig hiking trail, wilderness trail (on the slope opposite the holiday home), the Hohe Venn, the Mariawald Abbey near Heimbach, Monschau, Bad Münstereifel, Rursee in Flames(July), Urft dam, Kall valley, Schwammenauel, Nürburgring, wild narcissi time, hiking in the gorse blossom time, observation points for wild deer, foxes, mouflons (wild sheep), beavers and much more. As "locals", we will be able to give you lots of tips and additional recommendations that cannot be found in any holiday brochures.
You will also find lots of tips and recommendations (excursions, restaurants, things to see, pampering etc.) in our holiday home folder.
In winter: winter hikes and tobogganing, cross-country skiing, and ski-lifts all nearby.
As well as the Rursee, there are lots of other smaller dams nearby.
The Eifel is wonderful at any time of the year and has its own particular charm in any season.
