Holiday destination
Domburg is Zeeland's oldest seaside resort. A combination of beautiful nature with a lovely beach and an impressive small town right behind the dunes. Since the mid-19th century, Domburg has been a resort, although the first tourists came there as early as the 17th century. The clean sea air, in combination with extensive forest and dune areas, has a strong appeal. This also inspired many famous painters at the beginning of the 20th century, such as Jan Toorop and Piet Mondriaan. Domburg has not lost its appeal to this day, with thousands of tourists coming to Domburg every year to spend their holidays or even just for a short weekend trip. Domburg is popular because it is so varied.
