Holiday destination
The newly equipped accommodation sits right on the dyke, where sheep regularly graze, and behind which elegant cruise ships and impressive container ships are escorted by the famous tugboats across the Elbe to the Port of Hamburg or the North Sea.
Hollern-Twielenfleth is the perfect place for relaxing stays without boredom: extensive walks along the dyke with an fuss-free stop for coffee or Flens beer on the Elb pontoon are possible here, as well as a swim in the open-air pool with a direct view of the Elbe or watching ships on the Bassenflether Beach - everything in the immediate vicinity.
A cycling trip to Jork and the old Hanseatic city of Stade starts in front of our doorstep and is best rounded off with a historic city tour. Our old country farm shops leave no culinary wishes unfulfilled in their diversity. The flower barometer provides information on the current status of the annual blossoming of the cherry and apple trees.
The ferry dock Lühe will bring you straight to the other side of the Elbe with its famous Willkomm Höft, where incoming and outgoing ships have been greeted with their national hymns for the last 65 years. The HVV will conveniently take you from our place to the Hanseatic city Hamburg.
In the village you can buy everything you need for an extended holiday breakfast with croissants and franzbrötchen rolls or for evenings of cosy cooking in our generous kitchen. With a view of the orchard and our spacious terrace, you can start and end the day relaxed.
Getting there
We recommend taking the road via the wonderful Elb Deichstrasse, from Finkenwerder.
That way, you can admire impressive, restored half-timbered houses typical of the Old Country with their traditional gates.
This route also allows impressive views over the dyke to the other bank of the Elbe, for example to Hamburg Blankensee.
Shortly before you reach us, you can put in a quick stop in Jork, to enjoy the small, but famous, town centre.

Heerlijke dagen gehad bij familie De Vries. We zijn hartelijk ontvangen en het huisje is schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook geschikt om langere te verblijven. Nogmaals dank voor de gastvrijheid!

Die Ferienwohnung ist in einer sehr guten (ruhigen Lage) und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieter sind sehr aufmerksam und nett. Die Ferienregion hat sehr viel zu bieten und kann gut mit dem Fahrrad erkundet werden.
