Go swimming by the sea - e.g. near Populonia. The Gulf of Baratti is well worth a visit, as are the Carrara quarries. Many other exciting historical and culinary excursion destinations, shopping opportunities, restaurants, etc. can be found in the travel guide.
Holiday destination
Il Villino is located a few kilometres from Volterra on the legendary Monte Voltraio. This is a place to live and relax in beautiful countryside, in the cultural centre of Tuscany. However, we also highly recommend the perhaps lesser-known medieval town of Volterra, ‘the city of the Etruscans and the city of alabaster’.
Getting there
Mit dem Auto über Autobahnabfahrt Pisa gelangen Sie direkt auf die Schnellstrasse Pisa-Livorno-Firenze. Fahren weiter in Richtung Volterra. Fahren Sie die S.R.439 bis zum km 16 und dann links auf den Landweg in Richtung Pignano/Palagione. Der Weg führt zunächst an einem Bauernhof (links) vorbei, dann über eine Brücke und geht anschliessend bergaufwärts. Nach einem weiteren Haus (links) geht es rechts in einen Seitenweg mit einer rot-weissen Schranke. An der Einfahrt steht unser Schild "Il Villino". In diesen Seitenweg hineinfahren. An der ersten Toreinfahrt ("Tre Querce") rechts vorbei finden Sie nach weiteren 150 m "Il Villino".

Wir hatten wunderschöne Tage in einem Ferienhaus, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Tolles Haus, sehr gepflegt, top ausgestattet, eingebettet in schöner Natur. Lediglich der Anfahrtsweg über eine Naturstraße ist etwas holprig. Das war sicher nicht unser letzter Urlaub hier.

Wir fühlten uns im Il Villino sofort wieder wie zuhause. Das schöne Haus mit seinen vielen Zimmern, Bädern, Terrassen und Balkon war ideal für unsere 3-Gen.-Familie (6 Erw., 2 Kids). Gemeinsames Kochen, Essen, Trinken, Spielen, aber auch Rückzugsorte im Haus und im großen, gut gepflegten Garten. Der Pool war bei Temp. > 35 Grd. Gold wert. Erfrischen, Plantschen und auch Schwimmen ist gut möglich. Der Zustand des Hauses, Pools und Garten ist hervorragend. Die Küchen und Bäder sind bestens ausgestattet. Es gibt reichlich Gartenmöbel. Vor Ort schauen Lirio, Stefano und Luana zuverlässig und sympathisch nach dem Rechten. Vom Il Villino lassen sich sehr gut Ausflüge nach Sienna, Florenz, Pisa, usw. machen. Bärbel und Hermann Witzigmann, herzlichen Dank dafür, dass wir uns so wohl fühlen konnten.
