Other recreational opportunities
Surfing and paragliding in the large bay is possible, but you have to bring your own equipment. Numerous excursion possibilities nearby. Syracuse, Agrigento, Palermo, Cava d`Ispica and Cava Grande nature reserves, Vendicari bird sanctuary, Ragusa, Modica, Noto, Scicli, Taormina and of course Etna.
Holiday destination
Marina di Modica is located directly on the sea, between Sampieri and Pozzallo, at the southern tip of Sicily, far from the tourist centres. The sandy beach of the village is surrounded by dunes and is one of the most beautiful stretches of coast on the island. The sandy beach slopes gently into the sea and is ideal for all age groups. Along the seafront, there is a beautiful promenade surrounded by a park in southern Italian style, where a market is held at weekends. In July and August, when the locals are on holiday, the otherwise quiet seaside resort comes alive with live music, theatre performances and beach bars around the centrally located Bungalow Park for entertainment late into the night. In winter, warm, spring-like temperatures invite you to spend the winter in Sicily.
Getting there
How to get here...? BY PLANE: To Catania + 120 km to Marina di Modica To Palermo + 280 km to Marina di Modica It is advisable to book a rental car in your country. The bus trip from the airport in Catania to Modica takes about 2 hours and costs app. 6 Euro. Palermo - Modica or Pozzallo takes about 4 hours and costs about 10 Euro. NEW: Flights to COMISO !! BY TRAIN: Switch trains in Rome to Siracusa. From Siracusa there are train to Pozzallo BY CAR: From Messina: Catania Siracusa Gela Rosolini (exit) Ispica - Pozzallo - Ragusa between Ispica and Pozzallo follow the signs Marina di Modica - Sampieri follow for ca. 10 minutes the signs Marina di Modica Exit Marina di Modica Driving time: app. 1 1/2 hours From Palermo: Catania Siracusa / Gela Rosolini (Ausfahrt) Ispica - Pozzallo - Ragusa Pozzallo before Pozzallo: Exit Marina di Modica Driving time: app. 4 hours --> GPS : N 36° 42` 75,1" E 14° 46` 75,6"

Uns hat es sehr gefallen in La Perla di Sicilia, gemütlich, erholsam im wunderschönen Garten. Kurzer Weg zum traumhaften Strand, kleinen Supermarkt, Eisdiele und Restaurants. Ein großer Supermarkt befindet sich 7 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Wir waren sind Modica , Syrakus und besonders gut hat uns Noto gefallen. Möchten wiederkommen, gibt noch so vieles zu besichtigen. Danke an den netten Gastgeber Daniel. Ciao und Grazie di cuore

Ich war mit meinen Kindern eine Woche in der Ferienunterkunft und es hat alles gepasst. 100 m bis zum Strand, 5 Autominuten zum Supermarkt. Viele Ausflugsziele waren von dort zu erreichen. Es war toll!
