Hiking on one of the most beautiful routes in the entire Alpine region...in the Texel Group nature park you can walk the 90 km long Merano ridgeway - www.meraner-hoehenweg.com - to reach air heights and experience an impressive high mountain landscape: the highest groups of Alpine lakes, the Spronser Seen, mountain farmsteads that are hundreds of years old, an impressive selection of high Alpine flora and fauna, old huts and fantastic views... We highly recommend hiking through the Alpine meadows on the Naturns Nörderberg from Aschbach, Vigiljoch to the Naturns-Zetn-Mausloch-Tabland-Marzon-Zirmtal meadow to the mountain tops up to 2700 m.

Holiday destination

With 315 sunny days a year, Naturns is the sunniest town in South Tyrol. Also thanks to the mild climate, we not only have thriving grapes and fruit trees, but also palms. So there is a fascinating contrast-rich natural landscape embossed with palms and glaciers. The mountains rise steeply about the valley walls. The many 3000 m peaks in the Texel Group nature park look down into the valley and provide an impressive natural landscape. The many cycling paths lead you through breathtaking Alpine landscapes past many sights. You can, for example, see one of the most famous monuments in South Tyrol, and the most important art treasures in Central Europe, the St. Prokulus church with the oldest frescoes in the entire German speaking region.

Getting there

Coming from Merano before Naturns cross the roundabout through the town centre towards Kompatsch. Drive left to Tschirland, over the Etsch bridge and drive up 1 km. Coming from the Reschen Pass to Stabe, between the tunnels take the exit for Kompatsch/Tschirland - right over the Etsch bridge and 1 km up. The lovely church tower of the little Tschirland church is your landmark. Do not rely on your GPS system, because it will probably take you on a detour through the fruit orchards. (happens a lot)
