Our village Langenberg will delight you with its vistas, including Windeck Castle, the rural surroundings and far into the distance.
The 'Windecker Ländchen' with its idyllic, winding Sieg valley is perfect for long hikes (Natursteig Sieg, about 200 km long, and the wonderful circular adventure trails) & bike tours. And in the neighbouring village you can go on an unforgettable Alpaka hiking tour.
Getting there
Be environmentally aware and arrive by train:
Rail route Köln (Cologne)-Siegen, we are halfway between the two cities, about 1 hour from Cologne central station or Siegen; from Cologne central station take line S12 or 19 (towards Au) or the RE9 (towards Siegen/Gießen);
Three times per hour to Windeck-Schladern train station
This is ideal for people visiting the fair in Köln-Deutz - from Windeck-Schladern, the train ride takes roughly 50 minutes!
By plane:
Cologne/Bonn Airport
There, you can take the S-Bahn (suburban train) towards Au - to Windeck-Schladern; (total travel time is about 55 min.).
Of course we'd be happy to pick you up at the train station Windeck-Schladern!

My home village Langenberg with its extensive fields brings back wonderful childhood memories: The many times I've watched my Grandpa, a gifted blacksmith, at work or when I sat behind him on his moped as we rode across the fields; when I sat on hay bales, breathing in the scent of summer, or when I helped with harvesting potatoes...

Ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Häuschen, sonnige Plätzchen zum Frühstücken und Entspannen. Eine freundliche und großzügige Vermieterin, die uns eine Stunde lang mit ihrer Ente im Windecker Ländchen herumgefahren hat. In unmittelbarer Nähe viele Möglichkeiten Freizeit abwechslungsreich zu gestalten. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Über Pfingsten 2024 hatte ich das Glück im zauberschönen roten Fachwerkhaus wohnen zu dürfen. Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen, verfügt über einen wunderschönen Garten und eine sehr herzliche Gastgeberin. Es fehlt einem an nichts und die Einrichtung ist urgemütlich. In der Umgebung kann man herrlich wandern. Ich war rundum zufrieden und komme gerne wieder.
