Extensive hiking and cycling trails along the water, historic places like Enkhuizen, Hoorn, or Alkmaar (cheese market) are worth seeing, Amsterdam is a 35-minute drive away or accessible by train, a day trip to Texel is recommended, the North Sea beaches of Egmond, Bergen, or Callantsoog are worth a visit, you can book boat excursions on the IJsselmeer, something special is a combined round trip from Medemblik to Hoorn with the historic steam train, continuing to Enkhuizen with a visit to the Zuiderzee Museum and return by boat to Medemblik.

Ich war zum zweiten Mal in diesem schönen Ferienhaus. Meine drei Freundinnen und ich haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und die Zeit genossen. Abends ein Glas Wein am Steg am Kanal und den Gänsefamilien zu sehen. Da kann man wundebar entspannen. Im Haus ist alles Geschmackvoll eingerichtet und uns fehlte nichts. Eine sehr ruhige Lage und es gibt viel zu erleben . Schöne alte Städte unter anderem Enkhuizen sehr zu empfehlen dort, die Eisdiele ( Eiskönnigin) und der Tipp von Frau Nelles das Gartencenter de Boet in Hoogwoud auch super. Alles hat reibungslos geklappt, immer wieder gerne.

Wir hatten im April 2 Wochen in einer wirklich tollen Unterkunft. Das Ferienhaus der Familie Nelles ist ein Traum und nicht umsonst auf dieser Plattform. Es ist alles wie beschrieben und die Bilder lügen nicht. Im April hatten wir damit gerechnet dieses gemütliche Ferienhaus ausgiebig zu nutzen, doch bei nur 2 Tagen Regen konnten wir der schönen Natur der Umgebung nicht widerstehen. Der Kontakt mit Frau Nelles war sehr unkompliziert und es hat alles wie abgesprochen reibungslos geklappt.
