Where can you find something like this? In the heart of the tri-border area of Salzburg, Bavaria, and Tyrol – something very modern has moved into the quaint holiday resort of Unken.
Between lush meadows and rugged mountain giants, your hosts Heidi, Leo, and Chris have taken a pioneering role for a new holiday concept. Known from TV documentaries and construction and living magazines, a “Tiny House” in the Salzburg Saalachtal is probably the least expected. Built in the most modern solid wood construction, sustainable and truly clever, the trio has set up two of these low-energy houses on the edge of their idyllic hotel grounds. Brand new, very chic, and yet perfectly integrated into nature, they are supplied with “green” electricity and their own spring water.

In summer a true natural paradise
Be sure to visit the original hiking area in the Unkener Heutal or the managed huts in the Loferer Almenwelt. Real regional delicacies and a generous portion of hospitality are served. The Heutal is also a worthwhile excursion destination for mountain bikers and e-bikers. Enjoyable hikes up to genuine peak tours start right at your Tiny door. If you want a bit more thrill, the canyoning and rafting offers in the wild Saalach provide the right adrenaline boost.
In winter, there’s something for EVERYONE
When planning your holiday, the motto is: “Don't tie yourself down!”. There is simply too much wonderfulness to experience. For skiing fun, both the small, fine family ski area in the idyllic Heutal and the Almenwelt Lofer ski area are available. Even among locals, the most beautiful ski hut in Austria, with its good value for money, is a secret tip. Just about a 15-minute drive by the free ski bus from Unken, you'll delve into the trendy Tyrolean ski region Steinplatte/Waidring.
Cross-country skiers, snowshoe hikers, ski tour enthusiasts, and tobogganers love the Heutal. It offers so many natural beauties and impresses with its well-developed trail networks.
Back in the Tiny House, you can relax in the hotel's wellness facility with a sauna, infrared cabin, and a massage. Or order a delicious mulled wine to the warming fire pit on your terrace and enjoy!
