Sustainable holidays in the Hohe Tauern National Park
It is on everyone's lips. The green footprint, CO² neutral travel, flight shame, sustainability, and much more. Almost everyone has the desire to save the world and wants to contribute their part.
You also have the opportunity here and now to pay attention to your environment during your vacation.
How does that work? So:
You are in an old mill from the year 1776. This rustic mill was completely renovated from 2017 to 2019. The old, historic masonry has been preserved, and some old wooden beams were refurbished and reused. Millstones from that time now support new tabletops. The mill still operates today, but in a completely new form. Electricity is now produced on-site. The concept ensures the self-sufficiency of the owners, who place great value on "green" electricity from hydropower. The steady hum from the generator room is the acoustic evidence of this.
It’s the details that make the "new" mill special.Creaking wooden doors
An impressive tiled stove, a masterpiece by the master tiler
Large, bright, and spacious rooms with plenty of high-quality carpentry work
Charming lounge area for relaxing
Comfortable bed area for the kids on the viewing platform
The amenities are of high quality, comfortable, and leave nothing to be desired.
Washing machine and tumble dryer – athletes and mountain lovers will be thrilled!
A dream for kitchen fairies – here you can cook, but you don’t have to. The charming town center of Bramberg is only 500 m away.
Your summer in the Hohe Tauern National Park
Between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Hohe Tauern National Park, there’s truly a lot happening. Diverse hiking and mountain biking tours are the classics. Especially the kids’ eyes light up when the new panorama or slide path is mentioned. The Adventure Arena Kogel-Mogel and the unique mountain cart track provide winning poses… even for the adults.
Ski fun and winter magic in the Wildkogel Arena
When you step out of the gondola at 2,100 meters above sea level and take in the panorama, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the many 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern. In the midst of the Kitzbühel Alps, the best conditions for an unforgettable winter vacation in the mountains prevail. The ski area at Wildkogel has been awarded multiple times and is optimal for families, beginners, and returners. Other well-known ski areas like the Zillertal Arena and the Kitzbühel Alps ski area wait with around 300 kilometers of slopes.
By the way: For practice, the best place to go is the in-house glacier. The “Wennser glacier” with a small ski lift is only 100 m away from your mill. A popular cross-country ski trail also passes by the “glacier.”
Tip: Here’s a small list of experiences to plan for your vacation time:
Directly in the town of Bramberg ends the longest illuminated toboggan run in the world, with a length of 14 km.
Must-sees: The Krimml Waterfalls – spectacular even in winter
The Grossglockner High Alpine Road – the route to Austria's landmark
National Park Worlds Mittersill – top tip for bad weather
